I,ve followed this builder I think lol . Dots em on same . His reason is your now allowed to put plasterboard in skip. Takes longer to scrim up then skim

Don't know mate, you have to count them, builder went OTT with them here, right b*****d to cover them in skim as well when they not set back far enough
