While were uploading photos heres some of the job im on at Manchester Uni thought id hijack this thread ;D

jet man that must be a pain, are you mixing up yourself aswell? f**k that. mix up, carry it up, use it, carry it down, mix up, carry it up, use it carry it down etc.

Yeah mate doing my own mixing too on the scaffold, I can handle it ;D ;D ;D ;D
 
yeah thats do able, if you'd have said 2 or 3 id have had to come up and pat you on the back haha.

right here is what i did, firs of all i found all the joists in my flat ceiling then i screwed some scant around the ceiling line, then i cut some strips of board at 81mm and screwed them to the underside of the scant, then i cut some more board strips to pack out the side of the scant to the 81mm thickness, i then stuck my cornice to the underside if the board.

then for the ceiling.... i cut a piece of plyboard to the shape that i wanted the slope, then at six foot intervals i put a big blob of bonding and used my plyboard to cut it to the right shape, these were my screeds. then i filled in the bays and skimmed it mate. i have thought of a few ways to do this, this was the fastest but if you bring the cornice down further then you will need more bonding and then it will need more support, you could use the bracket method or the spike and rope method to take the weight ;)

p.s this is one of the most basic ones i have done i will have to take photos of some of the better stuff, you will love it mate ;)
 
ok thats pretty straight forward. i was hoping a magician a wand and an elephant were going to be involved somehwere along the line
 
Looks like patience paid off, when your all painted and done you'll have a right to be very proud of that, good to see some tricky stuff being done, good on yuh!
