right i know this is a contentious subject but just wanted to share my experience a bit....went to a quote today (the nicotine stained one:)) its a 4 bed terrace and he wants it stripping, overboarding every ceiling and full skim. i qouted £6400 including mats (i know we dont talk prices) but thats 5 weeks work minus mats. i know a lot of people on here say its a race to the bottom quoting cheap prices but thats not my experience. without it i dont think i would have made my first year. if anyone struggling or a bit quiet please consider it as an option. the lead cost £17.50 and we could all make that work even with the ones you dont win(y)

got a skip though as taking kitchen bathroom out

I heard painting unibond on the walls helps take paper off, when it dries you can scrape it all off easy apparently, never Tried it though so could be a frock and of s**t. Lol

Think you are taking on work you are not that experienced in ,could find yourself in to deep, and it gets expensive if you start coming across electrical and plumbing problems, you will be responsible for putting them right and it sounds like the property has been neglected for a long time.

If you got a paint sprayer use that to get the water on paper. It's fantastic. They can be bought for £45. You can get plenty of water on and keep it going. Way better than sponge, garden sprayer ect. If your over boarding get a lifter in for a week. It will pay for itself in speeding along the job.

Why are you spraying and stripping ? Get someone in for fifty quid a day to strip and you follow. No point you stripping when you can get plastering money elsewhere? If you dont know anyone put an add on MyBuilder in the handyman section. Get a price on stripping it all.

I got a lad who will do work for me, he'll go in for wallpaper but I'll do kitchen and bathroom

Also thread wasn't about my ability or in ability to carry the job out it was trying to let lads know if they're slow or struggling you can work with these sites

How long have you been pretending, only MP s are allowed to swerve questions, please answer,
Everyone on here knows my story I've been very open...you upset cos you wouldn't know how to cap a pipe or something

I would just have to go you on a 3 day course like you, don't you have to prove you are a qualified plasterer to my builder!
So you do know who I am....and no you dont have to prove anything....its feedback based

I bet there's a lot on here who are great and qualified in f**k all

You are very touchy and easy to wind up,ha ha ha
Can I ask Andy why have you took offence to me trying to give the lads on here a heads up on how they can get more business....it wasn't meant as a boast just that if you struggling there is ways to help yourself
