LOL@ some of the replies...

All assumptions and ignorant to be honest...

Firstly.

I got involved as it appears that only one actually read the entire post... The Landlord's Girlfriend has just had a baby - they are also friends - and I was asked to HELP OUT - and like any Friend I was more than willing to help out when it's my home that I'm moving into.

With regards to "the wife shouldn't be getting involved" - Seriously have you ladies learned nothing when dealing with a company? - The "Wife" is his business partner and lover.

With regards to the silly remarks about my job? - Get a grip ladies... I'm hardly a security Guard - I am hardly a store dectective LOL - Funny yet extremely childish of you little ladies. :D

Majority of you are bitching like girls, good grief are you seriously all that good at your job that you think you're god in your industry? - Have you never had critism within your roles as "plasterers" - in all fairness the ammount of negativity from you little ladies only shows how immature you actually are... a customer has a right to voice their opinion - if there is an issue they have a right to let it be known - it doesn't matter what industry you're in, it all boils down to whether or not you can do your job or you're playing at your job.

You're working in someone's home at the end of the day, if you try and pull a fast one and someone notices then seriously expect to be told to F off by the customer - in this instance the Landlord and his brother ended up doing the job, because it was a complete cock up - but the whole point of getting someone in to do it was so that there was less hassle for the Landlord and his girlfriend due to them just having a kid... if that's unconcievable for some of you then you really need to get back to education, learn TACT and seriously consider the fact that when someone ****'s you over... don't whine about it (like you're accusing me of doing on a forum, when in actual fact - I'm asking for help with regards to you ladies supposed to being "professionals" - Professional my arse LOL!) be a man - suck it up and pay the lady for ******* your house up.

:D

If you can't do your job, seriously don't call yourself a plasterer - you're a lacky.

Haha lacky this numb nuts wouldn't know a days work if it smacked him round the chops!

we are all open to critic from the 'Customer' ie landlord, but we all endeavour to do the best possible job we can do in any given instance.

The Customer (landlord) should have been a little more stringent with he search for a plasterer from the sounds of it. Recommendations, this forum for instance as you managed to find it...

So what is it you was/are hoping to achieve from writing on the forum?

Regards

Regardless of your annoyance at the comments, no one absolved the plaster of blame, you came across as annoying and still do,but I will leave that aside, he did not damage the wall. The bricks were loose an inherent part of the make up of your home ,he should of cut off at 50mm as you said, not a major thing to fix,dry coat cuts off easy enough, it is a two day job as dri coat is left for 12 hrs before skimming, I am still confused re the asphalt internally as this is for external stairs/flat roofs etc. You put too much padding in your story which led to the ridicule, it would of been better if it was just bare facts. I have been doing the job for 25 yrs and I have done lots of domestic type work with little or no trouble, I always allay the customers fears, googling plastering is not unlike googling health issues...

The op has a valid point.... very few 'members' who have replied to his post have been able to accept any criticism.

If you treat your domestic customers with the same amount of disdain which has been present on this thread, then you deserve to be the one up for criticism not the OP.

Maybe so, But aren't most domestic customers an utter pain in the arse?

Difficult customers are part and parcel of the job, there never is a perfect scenario....... but in the current climate will most of you have the balls to tell a paying customer where to go????

I do not agree, he swayed all over the road, the fact that he was not drunk was not the point, every domestic job is different and I have had great clients over the years, many many return calls, many recommendations , I left that part of the world as it took up too much of my time and it needed too many jobs to keep myself and co busy, no on on here was been criticised by the way so you are also swaying a bit, some have mocked him yes but he was saying how important he was and when you put yourself on top of the pile people are inclined to take pot shots, let it sleep now,we all only have part of the story..
