Did you go from plastering to sales ryan? Thats a genuine question. I know nothing of your past .

I don't know many spreads that look forward to work each day. Many of us like doing a nice job and taking pride in the work but i can't see many looking forward to 2moro

No mate, never been a spread. Was doing other things before I went into the family business mate :RpS_thumbup:

It's not a fake account...

I get at least one email db message a day about nela and refina there is a lot of interest.... I direct them here to ask questions and research....

So it's no surprise they keep asking questions

Fair enough, I'll not mention it on this thread again,

Got a 14" refina and 16" nela both s*p*r*lex. Would probably keep one and sell the other.

Have a 14"x4" stainless mt barely used

14" stainless pool trowel. ******* kirk giodarno impulse buy

Just tried different trowels over the last few years and ended up with about 13 lol. Dont use. Most of them and fancy having a clear out
Got about fifteen myself, oddly something think are crap I then end up liking them like the one stop plastic trowel, loveit for arches ie stair winders

Take it your still not getting on with the super flexs ? .... I still get them out now and again then think to myself why did I bother.

Exactly that mate. If I could work with someone who uses them daily and gets consistent results maybe I'd change my mind. Until then ill do the same as you and get it out now and then just to put it back again.

Im tempted to try the 11" super flex. I loved my 14" before i dropped it but after a while of using just a mt i think maybe a smaller sf could be the ideal size for them. Small enough for control but still the flex for dry patches. They just seem to glide better on mixed suction backgrounds

I help a plasterer out the other week for a couple of days on his job, he was using refina super flex, his work was smooth but misses everywhere edges and corner very untidy, he swore by it. I didnt say anything but thought can you see what I can see lol ... He said my work was mint but I should use a s*p*r*lex because my work will be better...

So Ryan , in what way are nela a far better build quality than refina? I've got a 16 nela premium that's done hardly any work and its bent the wrong way and the Gucci paint job is flaking off. My refina still performing well though.

The s*p*r*lex does need watching ,easy to overlook stuff that a MT would correct

If its bent the wrong way through normal use it will be exchanged. Thats what a guarantee is for mate. As for the paint... Thats not going to affect the quality of the trowel.

To be honest when it comes to the Premium Trowels we only compare to the best on the market being MT.

I have many reason why I feel the NELA Range of trowels is better than Refina's and have posted it on here several times. I had the option to sell the same products as Refina. Direct from the manufacturers in Germany. I chose NELA for many reasons and I am still very confident I made the correct decision and the reviews we get also say this

No exchanges on impact damage? [emoji85]

Yes normal use bent it.
Of course the paint affects the quality of the trowel. It's meant to be a premium product of the highest quality. It's painted for no other reason than to make it look Gucci, now the paints flaking all over it looks and tatty and old.

I don't pick the s*p*r*lex up until I've finished with the mt ie flat wall, any misses filled and tidy corners, only then do I use it for the final two trowels.i do have consistent results doing it this way and I have made sure I have a good look at the finish when painted and looks good, when I first started using it I did have a few probs when it was painted I could see slight shadows when a light was shining down the side but persevered and changed the way I used it slightly and now I'm confident that this problem does not occur any more.
the problem is that because it is less stressful on the body to use people are being lazy and using it to early and when they should still be using an mt.using it at the correct time on the plaster Is another important factor,we sometimes forget we learned with and have been using an mt,tyzack etc for 10,20 or 30 years and many just think it's another trowel but we are having to teach ourselves to use these flexible trowels in the correct way.

Send me an email: [email protected] with your Invoice and I will replace it for you mate. Will get it collected and send you a new one.

The paint is for the looks yes. I have brought this up with NELA and they have invested in a better system for this. It won't affect the quality or performance, just the aesthetics. Im sure you have had flaking paint on your machines etc. We see it all the time on many different machines. Doesn't effect anything though :RpS_thumbup:

Are you not using your speed skim ? I use the 600 all the time now it flattens it off a beauty on the first coat, hardly ever use it on 2nd though as it's not needed
