Nela trowels

I use my s*p*r*lex (Nela) for laying on, it's not as flexible as a trowel I used to have - it's just right.

The only tweaks being made will be to the Pole at!tachment. The Spat itself wont change
Would that be the use of wing nuts instead of the alum key set up?? A couple of the lads suggested that on here and sounds a good plan?? For the record used my eze spat again today on ceilings and its criminal how it saves so much time and effort!! @SpankySouthport had to leave early and asked if I'd be OK managing the ceilings on my own?? I just laughed pointing at the eze spat, bloody doddle :RpS_thumbup:

I've always used marshalltown trowels carbon steel. I buy the 14 x 4 3/4 cos I think the five inch wide for skimming are a bit numb . So when I heard that nela were doing a 13 x4 3/4 I decided to buy one but have got to say the balance is not as good as the marshalltown it seems the handle is set slightly back not a lot but enough to make a difference however the 11 inch nela I bought seems fine. Does anyone else find this problem?

18"" nela is **** the top of mine started coming away cos there ******* glued on!!! Trowels without rivets what a load of ****!!..

My 16" is the same, luckily not by much so still useable but can tell it's going to get worse

Hi Mate,

Unfortunately there was a bad batch in production, this has all been rectified. There is a 5 year warranty on the trowels for this reason. If you give me shout, I will arrange collection and send you a new one out FOC

Hi @smoother09, sorry for the issues. They are certainly not sh*it though. Unfortunately you have just had a faulty one. They are only a 0.3mm blade so impossible to rivet. It is also designed for flattening and finishing not laying on.

If you give me a call on 01242 236699 we will collect yours and replace it FOC.

Sorry again,

Ryan

Also we explained there was a problem in manufacture a while ago, which lead to someone at NELA losing there job. There was a few faulty ones which slipped through the net. Out of 4000 sold we have had less than 20 returned for this reason. This has all been rectified now, NELA are so confident in the quality and so are we that there is the 5 year warranty that we will honour. Also the 'Glue Tape' which holds the two blades together has been improved as well so there shouldn't be any problems.

Tried straightening it out with no joy. If anyone wants it for cutting down or spare handle etc pm me and you can have it

Your determined your no getting on with these superflexs's lol on another note the new s*p*r*lex very rarely leaves the van as contrary to what others say it does need broken in and no one can be arsed doing it.

My Refina sf was bought from bed dy. don't think he'd done much with it and mine was fine to use straight away

Hi ryan, my 14" superrflex has started peeling away at top end, not exactly falling apart but cant see it lasting 5 years.

Hi Gareth,

As you can imagine its very hard to pick everything up on here. Could you please give me a call on 01242 236699 and we will get it replaced for you straight away, sorry for any inconvenience

Ryan

Hi Guys,

Also if anyone else has any problems please could you give us a call directly so we can fix it for you. We have admitted there was a fault at the early stages, this has now been rectified. So there is nothing to worry about.

The reviews are still flying in and people are still loving the Trowels. We haven't had many people say the s*p*r*lex can't be used straight out of the box, in fact 95% of people are fine with using it straight away.

If you do have any problems please do not hesitate to give us a call on 01242 236699 and give us the chance to fix it for you. It would be appreciated.

Ryan

I was getting on ok with it. Still wasnt 100% but getting there. First time ive ever put trowels in a bucket on the van floor and a board lands on it and bends it. Now I remember why ive got a rack on the side of the van

Practically brand new. Did shove the handle up my arse and wiped my bellend on the nut too before posting it. Got the pics to prove it.

I am one of the guys that say you can use it st8 out of the box Stuart. I bent an 18 inch i think it was the other week by dropping it like the spaz handed guy i am. Got another used it straight away with no problems. They are a trowel that once you change your timings a bit they become so easy to use. I do wonder if some people go on the first pass to early that i did at the start. I made more mess of what i had laid on. Once i got my head round a method to the way i plaster to incorporate the Nela sf I have not finished any skimming without mine since. I still could go back to the normal trowel but i can not see the point unless i had to. :RpS_thumbup:

I've got a 16 in s*p*r*lex that's well worn in so got another for lad who works with me and you can see the difference. Don't get me wrong it won't take much to break in but there is a difference. The worn in one you can use as early as you like I find with little pressure and blade quite flat but I tried with new one and kept getting lumpy moon surface. Everyone does it different though.

Yeah i agree with you Stuart as everyone plasters in a different way. I think i waited that bit longer with a new one before i ran it over for first pass.I probably gave it an extra pass at the end also which takes no effort as you know.I think if a new one is used on the final pass a couple sets that is all it would need.

I use the nela trowels every day, and have had no issues with anything coming loose... will be giving the PUTZ spat a try out tomorrow..

Ryan.... I put my nela s*p*r*lex behind my Pick up and accidently ran over it... just wondered if this is covered on the warranty.. couldnt believe it broke.. FFS, my 4x4 only weighs a couple of ton.. german shite...lol..

Hi Ryan 5 years warranty on the s*p*r*lex??

I'm sure I've heard somewhere that refina flexis only last 12 months apparently so 5 years warranty sounds very good :)
My refina got dropped a while ago been meaning to replace it, might give a NELA flexi a whirl
