no mate dont dab it as iv done the scrach coat be for and dabed and it came back damp..iv sumtimes toped with bonding.. but nah u got use the render reali aint ya..

i remember my first render job...
like a foot deep nib on a wall knock through 3 sides thing..
didnt think to bead it up...
tried hard edging it using the trowel against the hawk over the corner..
spend ages playing with it..
then well it all slid down and fell off i mixed it up a bit thicker (bit more cement ;))
thought 'that'll cure it!'..
so ive got what is now something like a 2:1 with tons of waterproofer in it..
stiff as f**k.
what i actually ended up with was a kind of bell shaped 'shroud' around the base of the nib which when i came back the day after had set like bleedin glass so there was me trying to chip it back something like straight using an old trowel...
i didnt devil float it either..
or float it at all come to that.. it was 'trowel' finished..
still skimmed the f**k*r though.. ;D

;D ;D.......fook it its not our hou.............
think ive found the problem damp patches are in the top coat ......so thats two coats of well waterproofed render and damp still showing ........i fookin give up man ;D

Looks good to me Oasis next time when you use a mixer you wont believe how easy it is, the wall is solid 9inch no cavity their so probably built in lime morter so i would say 4-1 a bit strong i would have gone for 6-1-1, no need for sharp when using plastering sand only when mixing with soft.
Lucius

Tottally agree with lucius ,the water content is way to high mixing by paddle , i think you will be lucky not to get any come backs on this one , the golden rule with rendering is thickness put it on to thick and it will crack.

sooooooo come on then m8te dose the skiming as good as the rendering im not haveing a dig weres the pics

done the day after mate dint take any pics.. only the one of the covin bodge job repair its on page 3 oif the coving tread
