it does shut off the material in a control manor, a shut off valve is not a good idea because pressure builds up in the pipe and you will end up with blockages.
and if you get all confused and start shutting off the material before the air then turning the air on before the material you'll have more then an OCD to worry about mate .......JUST BUY THE DAMN GUN
thats what i like bout you 2 ,your so positive ;D, could just see gary turning the air on and not the material and lookin at me gone out cause theres only air coming of the nozzle
burst plenty o pipes, used to have some crappy black ones that come with machine, never used to have a pressure gauge either, recipe for disaster , shot render across many a building site,lol
