I look after my tools I oil and clean then constantly so I don't think £400 for a mixer is unreasonable as it should last 10+years

Depends on what you using it for, if you do it day in day out a well known dearer would be probably better in the long run, although I had an evolution one for years and they good little mixers for £90-100. I upgraded last year for a 1600w festool one great machine and great service with 3years warranty and lifetime free tool insurance for theft with a 100 quid excess, but was dear as anything, if I wouldn't use it all the time would've stick with the evolution one which is still have as a backup

I'm a tiler so mainly be mixing cement based tile adhesive and self leveling compound and the odd bit of plaster and drywall adhesive I could probably get by with a evolution mixer but I like to buy the best if and when I can

I always use cheap silver line whisks on a corded every day drill for self level as they stick like s**t to a blanket find it difficult to clean it, gypsums are easy to clean just a spin in a bucket of water and done.

I'm gonna just buy a separate paddle for leveling and tile adhesive the collomix has a quick change feature

oh s**t that festool mixer is basically porn but I can't justify £750 on a mixer well not yet ill have to just look at it longer till I can lie to myself and convince myself I need it haha

Are u sure it's not the 1500w not 1600w coz the 1600w is a dull mixer and that's about 700 on ebay

Bosch grw 11 e. Never had one break down. Been at it 27yrs and I'd still be on my first one only it got pinched. Mixes whatever you want it to.
However I think Bosch have stopped making them now, they want things to break down nowadays don't they?
If I ever have to buy another mixing drill I'd be inclined to buy a second hand one rather than a new different one, such is my love for it [emoji8][emoji16]

I personally know 2 guys using that model bosch drill they make an equivalent one these days but for the money they cost I'd rather by a dedicated mixer either collomix or festool or eibenstock

For what you would use it for if you don't mix up more than one bag at a time 1000 to 1200w would be enough power anything 1600 plus you probably won't need whatever make you go for

The original is a dedicated mixer drill.
The 'equivalent' they are producing today is anything but an equivalent. It's shite. There isn't a drill on the market with the torque of the 11e and that's a fact.
Not about wattage, it's all about the torque.

I'd still probably go for the 1600w coz who knows what the future holds I wouldn't wanna have to go out and buy something more powerful I'd rather have more power than ill even need than not enough

Out of interest what is the torque of them bosch I can't find torque details on collomix site CUs I on me mobile there can't be alot of difference

Just as I was narrowing it Down some comes along and thrown a spanner in the works ill have to sleep on it and try and find torque figures for the collomix and festool

Sorry it took some digging to find the paperwork that's all in it what you can see, there's no torque mentioned in there unfortunately, I got the mx1600/2 EEF one, as you say its 1500w, I did pay in a range of £350, I did had a look it is quite dearer now not sure why tho

It's got a quick coupler on it where you attach the paddle and its extendable about 4 inches if its still not enough long you can get longer bits for it from festool, have a look one in the flesh if you can before you buy one Milwaukee got a big ass whisk so as metabo both 1600w if I remember correctly

I've found some mx 1600 for sale on the German ebay 420 euro gonna have to keep my eye in them this week while I ponder over them and the collomix
