Recieved today too, looks well made. The handle, on first impressions feels quite comfy. (but i prefer a wooden handle anyway)

Similar hardness of plastic as used on the Refina blade, but better supported by the base so as a unit it feels much more rigid.

The handle is centrally mounted so it feels well balanced and the toe and heel are supported better than other plastic trowels I've used.

Overall, first impressions are quite good. Looking forward to testing it properly.

Do you have the refina plazzi jr?

ive got 2 refina plazzys but dnt like them ive got a couple of other plastic trowels, one in particular i really get on with but they dnt make it anymore so have been trying out various different types to try find one similar, first impressions on this one are i dnt think it will be what im looking for.....but i will mount a different handle to second blade and try it in various differnt scenarios and see what pans out.
ps on a side note this one is nowhere near as flexible as my current plazzy which as it is so flexible it is mustard for winders:RpS_thumbup:

I think that's one of the worst things about those other plazzi's. They are too flexable and dont take the shapes out of the wall, just shine it.

received mine today aswell....

first impressions is i woul like to adjust the handle... but it may grow on me...

blades look nice and firm looks well built too

thanks again Ryan

Mine will be at my mates house (business address) if its arrived. Sounds like a good bit of kit and look forward to using it. :RpS_thumbup:

i only use mine to give the final cross over with so it doesnt need to be rigid, also i find with the thinner blades theres less margin for error with regards to nicking it and sanding it out again whereas my current one the blade is quite thick giving me plenty of meat around any nicks to sand it out.
but like i said this is on first impressions only at the mo havent used it and i certainly wnt write the trowel off till ive tried it out:RpS_thumbup:

Hate to piss on anyones bonfire but weve been buying these off a spanish fella on ebay for about 4 years now just type in plastic plastering trowels. There good for a final polish but dont try and use them while the gear is too soft. And make sure you protect the edge.

Mate we just got them in cause so many people like them. Your not a fan of the excaliburs or s*p*r*lex spats either are you? Do you just stick to a marshaltown or do you use anything else?

I just stick to using a trowel that does the job don't need to keep it in cotton wool and gives the same results every time ever heard the term all the gear no idea

Cotton wool is a bit extreme...! I see where your coming from with just sticking to what you know. But these tools do make your work easier and can increase productivity. Same as saying: you can apply by hand, it works, same results every time. Why use a machine?

No they don't just put on what you can handle and a machine is a different kettle of fish

Yes i have and a plastic skimming trowel and a sponge float didn't find any increased output just more crap lying around trowel brush hawk and angle trowel can't be beaten

In all honesty It quite a hard one to answer. I know of guys who use them for finishing. I also know guys who only use it for flattening cause they weren't happy with the finish. They can be used on render and basecoats as well. There is another post on here somewhere and some of the guys say what they use them for, strengths and weaknesses etc....

Yes mate. The replacement blades are available as well. Can't remember the cost of them. Think £4.50, I did mention the prices earlier in this post.
I'm back in on the 2nd so can sort it out for you then

I'm new to the plastic trowel thing but from what i gather you just use them on last trowel instead of your stainless?

Picked mine up from my mates the other day (Cheers Ryan). having not handled a plazzi before it feels like a float and not too bad. It's a pity I threw my old float away as the handle snapped off - I could've customised it to fit. Hey ho. Probably been asked already but at what stage do you use the it? Its too flexible to second trowel I guess as so do you use it on the first? Or as I keep reading others do just use it for the final polish? I take it it can be used straight out of the box, the corners don't need taking off etc.

Its funny how you can call yourself "The plasterers 1 stop shop" yet you only have 1 trowel for sale and you dont even sell handboards!!!! LMFAO
