New Rendering Tender

Hi all,

we are looking at rendering our house and have received 3 or 4 quotes so far from reputable (according to word of mouth on the area, testimonials etc)

However, one is using K-Rend and the other VPI. I have searched today for reviews on each, with K-Rend giving a longer warranty but I simply want to see who has used what and what they'd recommend we choose?

There is approx. £1k difference between the costs so just wanted to know if this i down to K-Rend being more expensive on the market than VPI too?

It’s a daft way of looking at it, it’s not necessary the render that’s more or less than the others, each renderer will have there own different overheads. I’d opt for vpi given the choice In any case. You can give as long a warranty as you want but it’s down to applicators good practice, go and look at there previous jobs.

K-rend will definitely crack if applied in warm weather it's one of the worst renders on the market and when it does they don't give a f**k

The new k mono actually seems decent, more like Weber pral. Time will tell though.

Yeah I hope they get it sorted its a nice finish but I'll only ever use it in winter overnight les lord was saying good things about the new krend they were working on and he knows his s**t

Don’t know what vpi is but I’d stay away from Krend

I helped out a fellow spread a few weeks ago rendering he used the prb system,considering I’ve only ever learnt old school sand and cement I thought it was quite nice to use
