Everyone is different, and it depends on what people are charging and speed etc. More you do it, better and quicker u will get. For me, it was site plastering, and u start labouring to a. Few plasterers then throwing on cupboards and hot presses etc until you get good enough to trowel up walls then coat bottoms then coat whole walls etc. Not sure that seems to be the way for too many these days anymore.
Certainly is, and gets u used to work as u usually have to sort out 2-4 Plasterers out before u stick a hawkful on. And get ready for next setting in between trowels. Now young ones not interested in it. Wee man out with us gets cupboards and small walls now to do, keen to learn but hard to get a chance time he's done his labouring first. Its a good foundation though

There are no inspirations for young people now... well there are plentyu but they are inspire by T***s like TOWIE or yioutube stars...
Working hard is not likely to happen for these as they want fame and fortune where in reality it aint gonna happen

So true. I used to teach these kids and 'mentor' them. Conversation went something like...
Me: "So what do you want to do when you leave school?"
Kid: "Be famous"
Me: "That's great, what are you going to do to get famous?"
Kid:"Nothing"
Me: "Well you've got to do something haven't you?"
Kid "No, look at that guy from Essex, he got famous and he didn't do anything"
Me: "But that's not going to happen to you is it"
Kid: "Might"
Me: "But you're a feckless dimwit with less sense than a housebrick"*
Kid: "Ow sir, stop it, HELP! HELP!"*
And I then I left teaching.
(* the last two lines only happened in my head)
