Hi. Just joined the forum not as a qualified plasterer but looking to gain some advice regarding plastering as a career. I have got to a point in my career where I am completely bored and wanting a change of direction. I work in the boat building industry and after 9 years have become bored and dissolussioned with my employer. Having a mortgage an family has kept me there as its easy regular money.

I am looking for a complete change of direction an was hoping that you knowledgable lot could offer advice on the pros and cons of plastering. And any top tips for training providers (gold trowel look pretty good).

Welcome to the forum, all the best with the change in Career. I would certainly look into External Wall Insulation as it is set to be the next big thing in the country. There are a few companies offering NVQ'S etc in EWI so it may be worth looking into that

Thanks for the tip - I shall investigate further.
 
Welcome, get on site for a few months, labour and learn with a plasterer, then you will have a feel for where you want t go with it.
