not a bad turnover !!!!

What about budism?

That’s all about peace

No, it's not. There are apparently a couple of types of Buddhists and they kill one another because they don't interpret the Buddhist handbook in the same way. Have a quick Google and you'll see what I mean.

The problem with religion is people, they're all cnuts.

Some people were saying on a FB group big contractors taking on jobs at cost or 1-1.3% profit margin, and trying to make money on the extras. I don't get it how they can make money like that. Even if we talk billions. People on the ground earn the wage of the office blokes as well. Uneconomical to say the least. Too many middle man too who's skimming the rates, no wonder rates are low.
5-10% is more typical margins,
but a lot of it is taking on project to gain bigger Market share and thus making them able to tender for bigger projects.

Trouble is there are too many trades working for s**t rates on new build sites..
The sad thing is that the rates have not really improved over there last twenty years!
How the f**k do we make money on these s**t rates??
I stick to house bashing these days..
Quick turn over and much better money!
It’s about time these rates started to come in line with the cost of living!
Prices rise (shopping rent mortgage the list goes on) but the rates stay the same??
There is only one winner in the world of new build houses and it is def not the trade men!
Plastering is a f**k**g hard trade and it’s about time these greedy fat cat bastards realised that they are taking the pure piss!

I agree to a certain extent,
But I have a gang that work on new builds- houses and industrial units etc and rates are increasing certainly on the render side, I've put my figures up 10% this year, last month to developers I work for, with no issues.
That covers my materials and a bit to pass down to subbies.

Unfortunately there always someone willing to work for dross rates, it's a race to the bottom.

the north of the country is barbaric for bad rates in all trades matey.
id go as far as to say PURE FUUCKING SLAVERY RATES.

You might be right, all I know is I wouldn't be able to run a business like that, all it's good for is getting big quickly.

£2.30 a m2 then those iddiots get taxed on that??
Come on it’s a f**k**g joke and bigger mugs them lads for pushing the s**t around for that sort of money??
I’ve been there and done that shite on new build work..
Too much health and safety bulshit and then one of the hardest working trades I.e the “plasterers” get f**k*d over..
The rates have not moved in 20 years like I said and until all the monkeys working for peanuts down tools this s**t will continue..

Yes! You're right! I'm inspired!! We need someone with Churchill's oratory skills and we should start a movement! Plasterers for £20o a day or everyone refuses to work site or domestic!

Lol the thing is unfortunately we live in a world where these contractors are forced in to working for these piss poor rates and in a way I don’t blame them because they have families like most of us jess..
When I first picked up a trowel the price work rates were the same as they are today which is unbelievable??
Over 20 years on and nothing has changed?
I stick to domestic work solely for the reasons..
The trade is under rated ..
£2.40 a m2 ??
Laughable??;)

not a bad turnover !!!!

Not necessarily they want 80 but that's all they be give. Where I am,
working to someone at least is 80/90 home on average. Don't know of any gettin more than 90 that isnt sloggins their guts out on a price subbing. Good day rate of big builders is less than 130 before tax. It is what it is
