Best route has to be the doctor lodan, been having similar concerns about my nan due to some random comments also. Theres alot of tests you can do online to give you an indication of dementia and similar but ultimately its not a medical diagnosis.

Good luck with it though, hopefully it'll turn out to be a minor issue

Sorry to bring up a serious conversation as I know most things are a laugh on here but had a really odd day with my dad today. He's 73 so getting on a bit, he twice asked me to come and work for his company today....he hasnt ever owned a company and then he told me he has invented perpetual motion but I need to keep secret as if the goverment find out they will stop him.....does this sound like alhezeimers....i have no experience with the disease and wondered if anyone on here does.....i dont know anyone I could ask and thats why im asking on here....google says delusions can be sign.

Please no piss takes as this is my dad and im really worried.
I think u should talk to a gp not on a plastering forum

as already mentioned a urine infection can make you dillusional hard to believe but 100% true there has been times when we thought my granddad hadn't had his medication and it has turned out to be a urine infection multiple times....

spoke to my mum today and she's noticed him saying a few odd things too, nothing as odd as my experience but a few things that didnt make sense, so she's gonna have a chat with her GP for some advice and then maybe get him in for a chat too if he will agree.

Like Nicm said shows a tough bunch of lads can still have a good amount of compassion and decency, thanks for all the responses last night I needed them.

Hope he goes along to see what's going on Lodan & gets the help or answers he/you/& family needs. (y)

it might sound harsh but he sounds schizophrenic to me. ive known relatives with Alzheimers and Parkinsons related dementia but this sounds different.

Nothing sounds harsh mate, I asked for opinions as thats what I wanted, good or bad. Ive now spoke to my mum so hopefully will feedback with a diagnosis once we know.
