Old Bonding not setting!!??**

Will out of date bonding that I have used on a wall eventually set.
It is 3 days now and still make a slight indent when pushed.
It was an open packet in a store probably for months.
Do I really have to scrape it all off or may it set hard after a week.
I need to tile onto it for a shower. Not clever I know.

No, but seriously don't use bonding for a shower area, and it's not recommended to tile straight on to it no.

I've used bonding loads of times in bathrooms it's fine as long as it's tiled

Tiling straight onto brick is better mate just use big blobs of adhesive saves plastering it then.

Spunky, I've seen loads of damp walls (maybe yours? j/k :flapper were bonding has been used, water has eventually got in and it's just soaked up the water like a sponge and just falls off - crumbles. I just wouldn't recommend it in those areas, and as for tiling straight on the bonding it just sucks the moisture out of the tile adhesive and crumbles.

You would be better of using dri-coat which you can tile straight on to, or use S+C or a tile backer board in those areas.

You wouldn't use bonding for a DPC would you? I know you said if it's tiled but still, see my point? there's just better options for those type of areas.
