when over boarding a already plastered wall can you screw the board on or do you have to dot and dab thanks in advance

Screw in mate find the joists top and bottom just by knockin a little hole in etc , watch out not to disturb the other side of the wall by hitting it hard etc

Out of curiosity what you over boarding for?

Try to find 2 joists close together then measure the distance between them this will probably be 400 to 600 ish.... Then you can measure that distance to find the next joist and so on.......if you find the joist at each side of the room you can then strike a line across the ceiling so you have got something to work to.....good luck

I have took out an alcove in one bedroom and give the space to another bedroom so to get the corner flush I will have put a board on to take the gap if you know what I mean
