Knauf MP Finish or any skim plaster on to plaster on to board is classed as Level 4

The pre mixed and sanded is Level 5

Now when it painted in most cases its not any different however in areas with extreme lighting conditions then yes there is a difference.

Trust me andy you can get a light and rake it across it and its flawless if done right. So it is a higher quality of finish

I know what you mean. When a client expects a perfect finish, I give them the option of sanding the surface with my Mirka Ceros: the overall quality is far superior to the trowel alone :-)
 
The decs that follow us spray paint with a graco airless, They mist coat, then wheel their lighting jig along the wall to highlight any imperfections, before giving it a light sand with a 1.2m long board. And top coat. Now thats perfection!
