Sorry Lee i did not think of that, i have been past slowly and see the guys spreading these houses ,and they don't strike me as being very good they are dropping pug everywhere ! all over themselves ,rough just don't describe it ,so with a bit of bluffing and a bit of practice in your back garden with some pug !!! and the course for a day , away you go ,and hone your skills as you go .......

No worries gooner.
In the neab time Ill keep on the locals.

Again. If anyone can offer anything. I can send over contact details.

If you got work in your own house then put an ad on gumtree jobs section offering work for a plasterer and pay them say 80-100 quid a day, then you can jump in with them labouring and learning, they'll be glad of the work and free labour.... just a thought i would do it if i was closer

Whilst I have work on going.
We are in the last couple days.

Martin and Ieaun..(two I have working for me )
Have been great. And have always used those for jobs i have.

However I have asked..and they havent needed anything

Ive been allowed to watch and revieved tips etc but nothing hands on
Not even shifting materials.

I want to keep this option open..im visting a center close to me later
Who run a 6week c&g level 2.

If nothing comes from ringing around/asking on here
Thats the route ill go..

always remeber lee to the end of your days, and this will give you a huge advantage over the rest of them trying to get a job, and the thing to remember is ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,its called a handboard tadaaaa

Uh oh. Opened that can of worms.
Tried to be neutral on that one ha.

Never the less, will keep it in mind hector.:RpS_lol:

doing well buddy! id say grab a labour job with a plasterer where they pay you and do the course depends where you go tho some are crap some are good but the best way is to find an old boy who nos it all :) just get some hand tools to get urself in the door

Cheers mate.

have been offered some labouring starting January for two months!

so that along with a decent course should get me on the road really!

yea just stick to its one of thos jobs when u get really peed off at the start learning all diffrent way its just finding your way of plastering and the best way a course would
be good as some plasterers wont have time to teach you all day every day like setting beads up and render/float but you can always teach urself in your own time on your house and family
till you get the confidenc soz i cant spell lol

it's also a good idea to work with a lot of different spreads ,if you can ,as they all have different strengths /weaknesses ,and you can try and cherry pick the best ways , good luck Lee !......

cheers Gooner,

looking forward to making a start in January.
wage paid too, which is an excellent start I think.

once Im on the path - I'll hopefully work with a few spreads
and as you say, learn multiple techniques!

once again though, very keen to learn so If somebody reads this in future
ill be on here often so let me know! :)

Hope all goes well for you Lee

Back again Folks

sadly despite me enquiring and having a decent chat about it with the bloke
the offer never materialised, so that was a bit disheartening

Been hectic this year with a child!
but I am still keen to get into plastering
tried a few local via the yellow pages, nothing available

so anybody looking for a hand, do let me know!

probably look into going to college asap as well, hopefully that fact will boost
someone's confidence in me.
