Does anyone know of any firms that manufacture pigments or coloring for finish plasters ? white and cream !

A customer ive just been to quote for seems to think shes seen it somewhere but doesn't know where, and has asked me if ill find some.

I've got a feeling it wouldn't be that easy to gauge to remain consistent. What would you seal it with afterwards ? if such products exist.

i thought about this before but surly the grain in the finish would ruin the finished look plus any trowel sweeps would surly show aswell???:RpS_confused:

Cheers mate, ill check the links out.

I have similar doubts and im sure well just go ahead and spread as normal, im also thinking would need minimum water else it could go patchy.

Im looking out of interest really now shes mentioned it.

PICS do coloured pigments for the wallcrete etc mate.
If you add a measured amount of pigment to your measured out water it should be the same each mix.
Probably need a lot of white or cream pigment though :RpS_unsure:
Be cheaper to paint it :RpS_biggrin:
You could seal it with an acrylic clear varnish or similar.

we plastered out a mill in thistle universal, a white plaster, then sealed it by mixing a bucket full of lux soap flakes with water and apply it with a sponge then polishing it with a lambs wool cloth. as the building was not going to be decorated.
you could at a later date remove the lux flakes with hot water if it needed to be decorated.

What happened to clay ?

hi guys im very new here and really looking for an answer few years back I tried to change the colour of multi finish I did this by adding cement dye but as we all know multi finish is pink and changes colour as it drys i used a red as i thought it would be ok with the pink but didn't work

is there a way of having any colour plaster??? (without painting it) lol

I've been playing these last few weeks with different venetian plasters and pigments and toners. He's plasters goon the wall coloured and then there is no need to paint. When mixing toners and such it's very difficult at first. If you want to reproduce a colour you have already made you need the exact measurements of plaster product and toner or pigment. Eg. Today I mixed a product called edel for a job. The sample consisted of 500g of edel plaster. 2 grams of beige toner. 4 grams of habano toner and 5 grams of marron toner. It came out like a stoney mauve colour when the plaster went on the sample board. It's in the van and I haven't seen it yet but it will dry a different colour than it went on. Understanding colour is difficult. To make black for instance I'm not sure what exactly goes into it but yellow is defiantly in it. Trial and error is the way if your mixing it all yourself

Feckin predictive text. Supposed to say venetian plasters go on the wall coloured not he's plasters goon
