agree unless you know the builder,
spend time working it out when your barely in with a shout to start with. they'll send it out to 5 outfits, pick lowest 2 out, ask the said mentioned 2 if one can beat each other, there you have it race to the bottom, equalling poor rates. building trade summed up in one small paragraph

That's exactly it. Half the time they throw rubbish info out there because they won't pay for a qs themselves to sort a proper spec tailored to the trade. Instead the said 5 contractors do the work for them mostly without a chance of getting near the door.

We been used loads a times. You learn to sniff em out and bin em

Got some plans emailed to me today and ive only priced off plans a couple of times. Anyway it states for the walls 30mm Insulated boards screw fixed and skimmed. Morning mate, it means just screwed with out dab, but what I always do on these type of projects is put in your quotation to be fixed as per manufactures spec, then just before you start check with the manufacturer to see what they recommend and do it that way and if they say just dab is fine you can just dab as your doing what is recommended and your client can't say anything as you already made them aware, hope this helps

Never fixed boards this way but dry wall screws do fix to lightweight blocks well maybe a bit of gripfill or foam as well reckon it would be ok.

Only problem is that you would have to follow the line of the block work, with no tolerance to straighten it out,
We all know there's good block layers and bad ones,
And the spread would be left with the problem IMO
