yep stabiliser neat, let it soak in and dry - sometimes it only takes bout 15mins, then I just PVA 1:3

think i remember Nisus saying it first on here.

think it works out cheaper than a bonding agent, and it's quicker. The stabiliser goes a loooooong way

weird thing i've noticed is it seems to be more effective the same day. if i stabilise it the day before and pva it doesn't seem to work as well. All things being equal that is. I can't explain why that happens, but most of my work is re-skims on lime and this works a treat.

Andy, try Artex sealer, it works a treat.
