Because artex can go soft when sealers are applied over, it's definitely better to seal day before imo. I also dig paper tapes out as they can come off when plastering.
Knock nibs off.
Dig tapes out ( not often)
Seal. Tape.
Seal over tapes and leave to dry overnight.
Pva and skim.

Do you still do that if it’s only 1 ceiling?

Yeah. Mostly.

Depends on distance to job. Size. Thickness and Condition ect. Seen many skimmed artex ceilings where it looks like someone has struggled. Whatever works for you I guess. If you can get it done with no problems in one trip then great.
 
So what your saying is. You finish work at say 4pm, go to job sheet up room.scrape ceiling, tape cracks , apply blue shite, get home at 6 or 7pm . You would have to charge another £100 to do that. I think it's all bullshit.

@MIXERMAN it actually works well.. I use to do this a lot and spoke about it on here a lot when I was doing it. I think I spent 3 years solid skimming ceilings...

You basically get the job the afternoon before get it sheeted scraped and glued and then leave it. The next morning you walk in and can start throwing it on. you are finished by 1 at the latest and then you got to the next job.

If the next job is not ready you have time to organise another job for the next day...

You need to be organised and when you quote the jobs you need to suss out whether they are good for you to come the day before and I rarely have had it where I have not been able to.

I never charged extra, but then I was charging more then than most are charging now so the cost of the grit was easily allowed for and I only worked a few miles from home anyway so never a drama.

being organised is the key and not charging £80
