Hi
I am getting different answers on which side of Glasrock board you should plaster.
Can anyone help please.

You will get both answeres. Your supposed to skim the aero looking side for the key. That said I've slimmed the smooth side on occasion and it's not failed.

A customer had dabbed this glasroc board into his fire opening for a log burner, i went round to skim it for him it was the smooth side I skimmed on,never had a call back on it

i am surprised that it did not catch fire it is only fibre glass.

I told him this aswell mate he had a cowboy builder in basically that done a kitchen extension along with a log burner opening, chimney breast he had dabbed normal 12.5mm plasterboard on the front and side of the fireplace and glasroc on the inside openings it was a massive opening to be fair but still I offered the customer to take it back to bare brick and s&c render with lime,I told the customer the builder knows f**k All but he wasn't bothered he just wanted it skimming so I done it but surprised never had a call back from it
