Plastering on m2 price

I know this has been discussed before but I'm on price work and am looking to improve the size of my guages. Does cream of Tatar or bicarbonate soda re***d board finish? Or do I just need to man up and get out of my comfort zone haha seriously though any tips would be greatly appreciated
 
I've always managed 3 big gauges a day on price, without adding anything to the finish.
I don't see why you'd want to slow the set down, just launch it on a bit quicker mate.
 
I mix a three bag guage three times a day, I wanted to slow it to try for a few more bags in two gauges instead of three and still make my money. I heard about this tip and wondered if it was true or not.

how many m2 do you get out of this mate? about 90?,, i would not fancy doing this in 2 hits, but then your probably young, fit and hungry (i remember those days) :RpS_biggrin:
 
I average about 75-80 per day haha I'm only 31 and hungry, I'd like to do it in 2 so I've more time with scriming, beading and traveling

A sensible plasterer who doesn't lie.wait for the "I do about 150 Mtrs a day" and I'm home by 2 and off to the gym.

Even when I was 25, after a couple of weeks of big hits I was like a zombie & totally bolloxed all the time!

I chuck around 15 bags of multi on then home for around 1ish then go and run a marathon in the afternoon then home to swim 100 lengths in my indoor swimming pool then bang the missus and then drink 20 pints :rolleyes: my name ?? Oh its Billy Bullsh*t !!! ;)

billys cousin Harry horse **** does all that be he also saves orphan kids rom burning buildings in his spare time.
 
When I was doing price work on houses, I started doing 2 bigs hits, but found i was chasing it all the time, so started doing 3. 1 bedroom, ceiling and walls 1st hit, 2 hit the same, then 3rd hit throw an ensuite on, while that was going off, get set up for the next day. Lot easier than running round like a manic, and could do it comfortably 5 days a week. Worked out around 70/80 mtrs depending on house size.
 
I've heard all this I do a million metres a day b*ll***s before. Even doing 80 metres a day tires me out after a few days and I consider myself quite fit. I'm going to try the retarder and post a new thread next week letting you know if I've been sacked off for trying too much and being rough haha!! I always like to try different ways but end up always going back to the way I was tought

LOL! yep! me too. Not being funny but getting on two hits in winter is a full day cos the gear dont set! And if youre doing new house builds theres no cream in them,just angles and more angles and awkward stairwells and built in cupboards in every bedroom! A 2/1 hit will have you runnin round like a loony! then in the meantime the agent comes in every 5 mins and asks you to move your van! AGAIN! PLus everyone knows spreads go home at 2 at the latest! Thats the Law!! Spreads must be the biggest bullsh*tters ever!

Is that all.300 mtrs at least and tidy up and scrim up while your waiting for it to go off.I know a lad whose wrote a novel between trowels all down to discovering speedskim.it was called "50 shades of grey and pink"
 
Anyone can bang on 150- 200 metres a day, but doesn't mean they have troweled it up. Just a word of advice mplasterer. I am 2 years older than you and can quite happily do a couple 3 bag sets a day , but I wont do it day in day out because I know my back,arms and knees will be shot by the time im 45 . It may all be well and good now earning a shed load but whats the point if you cant provide for your family in 10-15 years time
 
I,m still dry 53 days now, havent been this long without a slurp for 20 years. finished work a couple of hours ago and it seems weird not being a bit sqifffed
