Plastering over a piece of exposed wooden framing

Hello,
A couple of questions if I may. What is the best way to transition from plasterboard to wood on the left of the pictured sky-light. Initially I was thinking of putting some kind of architrave to finish off but would prefer an all-out plaster finish. Would some angle beading allow me to plaster over the slither of wood or will suction be a problem?

Pva it, scrim the f**k out of it, bead it, skim.
