Plastering over Artex - Corners and Underside of Stairs

Hi,

I am renovating a house and trying to do most of the plastering myself. Most of the ceilings in the house have artex on them which has tested positive for asbestos, so I have been putting a coat of bonding over the artex before skimming it, instead of knocking of the high points.

There are 2 areas I am not sure how to approach, I have attached pictures of them.

1. In some areas the ceiling changes level, so there are some corners. What is the best way to do these? Should I do the bonding coat with no beads on the corners, then put a skim bead on after?

2. The underside of the staircase also has artex. Should I put the bonding coat on with no stop bead at the edge of the staircase, then a stop bead along the edge for skimming? Also is it worth putting fiberglass mesh in the bonding coat to reduce the change of the plaster cracking from any vibrations of people walking on the stairs?

What a truly monumental fk-up asbestos was, in the building trade.

It's possibly even worse in the USA, where the majority of their vermiculite was mined in Libby, Montana, and naturally contaminated with asbestos.

On second thoughts, if you bond it out first i would put the thin coat beads on top of the bonding.
Now as we have established it contains asbestos then best not to try and nail or staple beads, can you see where this is heading?

Just get a spread in you tight arse! Skimming over artex ceiling and with bonding 1st ffs imagine what it will look like you'll knock £1000s off the value of your home.if your skint save up until u can afford it.im all for somebody patching in a cupboard wall on the diy but this needs a pro ffs.even casper struggles and he's meant to be a pro

you have a problem because your poxy tape wont stick to bonding your words not mine
 
Now you see. The price you pay for a plasterer not only includes their time to do the job. But also their experience and knowledge. That should never be given away for free.
