Plastering over lining paper?

Take photographs of what they've done take it into the site office and ask them if it's the correct method of plastering cause you've done some research and found that it's not acceptable way of doing things. Threaten to take it to your local tenants association and if that fails take it to the local MP. You can refuse them access which will set the job back and they don't want that. The louder you shout the more you will get but don't get aggressive they will walk away, And **** you off.

I haven't employed them they are doing it through council (same one I work for but different firm) just frustrating they know I skim look at all the walls in my house lol but yea I think I will ask for it to be stripped and new plasterers I think
If it comes off mate there wasting there time

or being a council kitchen it wont be big so give yourself an hour with a bucket of water brush and a scraper and just strip the paper off, then wait and see the plasterers faces when they come in and see all there prep work they thought they had done just laying on the floor. then you know its off and should be done properly

Thanks people I will do this and I appreciate the advice as I'm self taught I just wasn't 1000% sure but will be taking your advice...I won't be aggressive just explain my points and hopefully they will rectify this...any you guys near essex?

If you own an air rifle I would also shoot them in the arse cheeks (preferably from a first floor window) as they walk down the path

As JR said - just scrape it off, it'll only take you 10 minutes
(Oh how i hate that quote :RpS_crying:)

i think youll find i said an hour:flapper: and if its just lining paper left you just have to sneeze on it and itll come off.:RpS_thumbup:

Lol I might do to be honest I got a newborn And work in morning so don't really want to be doing it if I can help it

Don't strip it off yet mate, they might have used the new Lafarge prepcoat for wallpaper it's green & looks like thistle bond-it!! :RpS_thumbup:

Oh sh1t just read your post.....:RpS_unsure:

I would of but I thought they would of done a reasonable job and with me at work 6 days st mo but now I'm tempted by the standard of these guys...I'm pretty sure it's not the stuff for wallpaper but could be wrong either way surely it's just better off!

All council contractors do this fitting kitchens as they are on such a bad price its the only way.

Plaster it ur self u lazy ba stad, couldn't be ars d reading the whole thread. Why do u want people like me and the rest of the people on here to pay for the re plastering of ur rent subsidised home :RpS_cursing:

Don't bleed the ******* government dry, I'd rather be in a council house than get ripped off by mortgage firms

I was told about this by loads of "plasterers" in Sth Yorks and it all came down to the price they got paid and the fact that if they did not hit their bonus targets they were gone on Friday. Perhaps this is another shining example of value for money (think that means the cheapest price). It should never happen but if your put in a position like that is it the plasterers fault or are they trying to pay their bills.

Perhaps the air rifle or 12 gauge needs pointing at other people.

I'm not sure who is at fault like you say but shouldn't be my problem should it? I am due a new kitchen not new poor work I understand though but why should I suffer?

Desperate people should not have to do something that makes no sense, the tenant should send an emailing complaining to the council @Essex
