Hi
ive heard of some sort of baking product that actually stops the multi finish from going of anyone know what it's called and how much you can use without it effecting the strength of the plaster and much longer you get ?

Thanks

There are two products that slow the set of plaster. Trysodium Cytrate and glue size. The first you add to water and then introduce a little into the mix. Its a little hit and miss but onceyou get the Trysodium concentrate into a liquid form if you add 25 ml to a bucket and try it you can vary up or down. fibrous plasterers use it in their seconds to control the the set of casting plaster. My son sells it if you want some email me [email protected]

on a big spread I put 1 tea spoon of cream of tartar per 5 litres of water. Its in the supermarket nxt to baking soda..DONT use too much tho, it'll inhibit the reaction so much that the plaster won't set.Its handy if your doing a massive ceiling or just slow/knackered.

Be-ro. self raising....makes the plaster look like it been two coated.....( when its really only had one coat):RpS_wink:

Chocolate drops to speed it up and hundreds and thousands to slow it down. Raspberry sauce to make it smell nice

Wish ya cud get a trustworth answer on here for this , wudnt fancy trying it whos ceiling / wall do you choose as you could look like a **** if sumit happens lol

Ok you lot we have had the jokes . Ceam of Tarter works ok used it when i was a lad along with size but Trysodium gives you the opportunity to have total control and is cheap and easy to disperse in water.
