Refina have sent me the catologue with the latest s*p*r*lex skimming trowel. It has like a sponge to absorb the flex and its a plastic blade. It looks a bit more well built than the other one i saw here.
They also have a new s*p*r*lex feather edge that looks cool

Re: PLASTIC SKIMMING TROWEL

I have one of the trowels and really rate it. Have only had it since friday and i love it already

Re: PLASTIC SKIMMING TROWEL

Re: PLASTIC SKIMMING TROWEL

what are they look like mate? good results then ? tried the swoop ceilings with it ?

Re: PLASTIC SKIMMING TROWEL

are these just for plasterers who say have knackered up their finishing trowel and need something with rounded edges while the new one bows a bit ?
i cant see the reason for buying one unless your finishing trowel isn't well worn down and rounded off a bit at the top
???

Re: PLASTIC SKIMMING TROWEL

I spoke with technical at refina today about these and they only go on sale at the beggining of november, he says the benefit from the trowel is there is no drag at all when trowelling up and can achieve a perfect finish earlier than a steel trowel. Link Removed look for the s*p*r*lex skimming trowel this is the steel version. Im gonna get 1 and give it a go. There was a guy on here about 2 months ago saying he had got 1 off the guy who makes them and everyone slated him he left the number of the bloke so ive rang him and gonna get 1 off him friday. Will let you know what its like

Re: PLASTIC SKIMMING TROWEL

They're for TRADESMEN who work in the hardest trade known to mankind and who want to be just that little bit lazier - cos we're worth it ;D

Re: PLASTIC SKIMMING TROWEL

Who cares if a painter has to sand down
That's always been part of his job
If you ever skim over dry Hardwall it leaves a polished surface
As long as there are no trowel marks and the like plus you can shave time of a set then it can't be a bad thing
You either finish early or put another set on
Fukkk the painters
