Well this is where I am.

Nobody is reviewing this trowel until the forum is sent some demos to try out until then we cannot review it.

Do you use these plastic trowells on normal finish ( board & multi) or is there another finish that you use?
Genuine question that!!!!

sorry we cant talk about seems like load of crap?.. anyone fancies a review from someone whos taken some time and a risk give me a PM and ill send you one in the next few days or so. iv been in contact with the makers and people who have used them for a long time now.. only trying to give people a friendly heads up.. the only things that has a heads up is this fourm in its own ass.

Dont you get it oasis there has been a number of posts on different products in the past and different members products trying to be sold on the forum . The forum needs to make money to survive so if someone wants their product to be advertised on the forum they need to approach the owner and discuss how best to do this and make a contribution towards the forum. There have been a few times when some have not understood this or blatantly dont care, think they can do what they want and just blatantly try and sell their product, wether that is the owner of the product or one of the members doing it on behalf of the owner knowing or unknowing it is still advertising the product.

lol i love this. whys it become such a big deal. i bought a s*p*r*lex a while back for bout £100 quid. i did a couple of sets and said yep, i like it. but for some reason these magical mysterious plastic trowels arnt allowed to be spoken about?? they have to be worked with for weeks before someone can say, yep, they make life easier, or no i wouldnt bother. and can i ask why is this the only tool/product to need freebies before it can be spoken about?

Nick plastics been around for a long time its nothing new, someone was on a while back who had something to do with making and distributing this type of tool, there is a very thin line between recommending and selling so why shouldnt the forum and its members have the chance to use and recommend these tools for free and the forum also benefit financially.

no one is trying to sell this one.. it could be a new M/T trowel for all you know? does this meen we cant chat about it until danny has one in his hand?

nothing magical here mate just a fresh new tool that needs working with before it gets a thumbs up..

Your on about reviewing it lol since when did you start reviewing tools? lol Its not a M/T trowel its a plastic trowel which for some reason you think needs reviewing its simple it polishes and saves you an extra trowel, review done hahahahaha

yeah them being around for a while was my point flynny. its like someone trying to sell a steel trowel they made. u can get them from anywhere. i agree that if someone wants to sell something then possibly a percentage or whatever should go to the site as it is advertising for them, but if you can get them from many places, why cant someone say if they like it or not?

and it being nothing new is why i dont get why someone cant say to people that havent used them if they like them or not. cant see why its being made into such a big deal. do a set. it works or it doesnt

oasis why do you think this comes down to me? I frankly have very little use for tools at the moment and i dont intend on going back on them for a while.

I am trying to sort things so that members get free tools to trial out while the manufacturer may not be in a position to buy ad space they can lose a few tools which works both ways the members gain and the company gets a review which inturn will sell tools.

How does anybody know that you have not been paid by the plastic trowel company to write this review...??

You have to see where we are coming from?

Danny

Thats the point nick why is it being made into a big deal are they good or are they not? Oasis is the only one who has one by the sounds of it but he cant say yey or ney he needs more time lol

Used mine a few times now (16" with sponge)Can take a bit of getting used to, but generally will achieve a good finish. Because its very flexible its not very good at getting in angles or up to something solid like a windowsill, you cant get the pressure. Same applies if using the toe or heel of trowel. Ive found a slight way round this is to flatten down while material is still very wet(so not as much pressure needed). It flattens wet material very well. Spreading with the 16" puts more strain on the wrists but nothing you wont get used to. I think the way it works well is that it flattens quickly and effortlessly because of size and flexibility in blade. Well worth a go for any capable spread. Blade can be easily scratched(being plastic of course) but look after it and you should be fine. Good luck!

wahey a review...

right lets just let this thread go on as I am pretty fed up of arguing about it.... but from now on any review like this needs to go to the review section.

it is no big deal.. just said ill give a better review of the tool when its been tested fully.. no flyn ur wrong its not a finishing tool thats somthing else.

i always thought 'taking a risk on something' meant you had to buy it in the first place, not get a freebie

Its not a finishing tool? why isnt it? and what is the something else?

well done layiton. i dont know how you did it!! lol

to be fair even buying a trowel that would prob only cost about £20 isnt really "taking a risk"

id like to give them a go

oasis cud you pm the details of how to get and what sizes you would get also id like to try the supaflex things would like some advise pn these too

How the fooking hell does it save a extra trowel ?................if a wall needs a another trowel it needs another trowel, wheather plastic, or steel, or stainless

£20? try £50.. the spat and pole try £130..

the tool flattens leaving no lines.. the plaster sets quicker.. i lay on flatten .. then lay on . flatten and polish..

any way best not talk about it

£50 for a plastic trowel. lol. sounds a bit steep. and im aware of what a s*p*r*lex costs iv got one money man

£46 from refina with p and p do i need to copy the invoice? lol sod helping u lot out then carry on with ya cave man tools

If you buy them off the man himself they are £25. I am using mine for first and second trowel can go on it soft and it finishes a set about an hour quicker. If you go on them soft it does not over polish and leaves a good finish with no need for a third trowel. I have tried using them for putting on but i still prefer using my normal trowel for that.

You havent ever helped anyone out on this forum and that goes for the plastic trowel review you never gave.
