Whats all this about a sponge when your skimming ive never heard as much shite in the 15 years ive been plastering you are talking about skimming and not rendering???
 
yeh i did the 1 day (intensive) course and from day one i was completely confident in my abilitys, walked straight onto site and have been completing 35m per day ever since, never looked back .......i was born to spread 8-)
 
didnt even bother with the course... i just bought a dvd watched that a few times then just jumped in the deep end. ha
 
which course did you do bestest , you must have done the 2 dayer .........heard it helps get the old speed up ;)
 
So youre a 1 dayer it gets better. And youre giving advice???? :-/
When i first looked at this site i was looking for work, i have been reading these posts for a couple of months and to be honest you all talk like you know what youre on about but most of you just enter quotes from british gypsum website. Ive plastered the proper way for 15yrs, all my family are plasterers and i earn in excess of £1000 every week and youre talkin about 1 coating and sponges when youre skimming and you say you learnt it in a day, and im the FRUITCAKE ;D ;D ;D
 
i think some 1 haveing a bubble well sponge 1 coating tryed it be 4 finish just aint same .should call urself tiger with all tiger marks u probably leave.sand down im morning omfg u must be pulling p..ser. dang how come i can post pics on some things and not on others?
 
the only time i put two coats on the wall is when im hardwalling and even then i have to mix the second batch 50/50 with skimming ............bit of a pain to rule it off with skirting and trowel up at the same time but does the job 8-)
 
Nicksey you say youve been completing 35m a day if you get 2.50 a metre thats only £87.50 i wouldnt get out of bed for that you need to be completing 90m a day to make any decent money

well nicksey I think I am with you, I cannot believe plasteres dont use sponges its quicker easier and neater never any watermarks left, saying that its only the last 3 years i have used them, I saw 2 young lads doing it 3 years back had a bit crack with them they told me how to do it the correct way and I have never looked back I would not dream of skimming without a sponge, it takes all the hard work out of plastereing it saves 2 trowel ups and also saves your body eg tennis elbow

i never said 1 coat multi I said 1 coat and lay in

I did say 1 coat Knauf and no lay in because thats the correct way to use it

so, this bloke turns up with a name, say bestest fastest? slags everyone off on the forum, seems he knows everything then, then tells other people to get out from up theyre own arse? am i actually hearing this?
bestest, if you dont like what your reading, i suggest you f'ck off to another forum ok?
 
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm thought this was plastic v steel room. sounds like spreads let of steem room . god get 1 of them rooms on the go fk the amount a hits it would get lol.
