Even if you get the tiles off you need to get the blobs of glue off. I Re skimmed one years ago and went over the blobs. The glue came through after a few months. Overboard is the answerWhy? I'm thinking a tight coat of bonding then skim. Oveboarding is out because it would take the ceiling down past the tops of units etc.
I will I'll give it a go tomorrow. The tiles are rock solid otherwise I would take them off and the ceiling is to low to board over. Just thinking outside the box for another solution. Thought someone might have had similar in the past. I might as well try going over them. If it doesnt work then I might have to take the whole thing down.Crack on. Take pictures and stick them up when you're finished
I know that's why I was thing of getting them off with a blowtorch or heatgun because they meltIt's a bloody fire hazard that stuff
This is a wind up.Hi lads. I have a kitchen ceiling to skim only thing is its got polystyrene tiles on it. I've tried scraping them off but they wont budge .Is it okay to plaster over ? I'm trying to think of reason why not but can't think of one. What do you think?
