Ordered the nela s*p*r*lex and it arrived yesterday, got to use it today, but it was only a small kitchen around units and small areas so never really got to see all the benefits. My next few jobs in the diary are all outside roughcasting, but ive got a couple of bedrooms I could do if the weather is bad. I'm praying for rain, because although i didnt use it much today, what I did do was amazing, absolutely no effort in the final trowels and got the wall super flat. I cant wait to let it loose on bigger areas

What size you get mate

I've got the 14 first had that about a year got a 16 bout 3 months ago lot better even less strain troweling up also after laying I give the first wipe over with my normal trowel then the nela after that

Anyone got an 18?
Yes I have a 16' and an 18 the 16 is the old one and I love it!the 18 is a new model and im not so keen, doesn't feel the same and the shaft is the same length as the 16 I think it should have been longer by an extra rivet on each end.i may learn to love it like the 16 but we'll see.

Dont want to start another Nela thread :)
Some job it is , takes all the work out of it.

I was looking along the length of mine today and it looks bent like a marshaltown , very slight but still a bend,
on a another thread i read that was it wrecked?
It doesnt leave lines or anything but should it be dead flat?

Impossible, to me at least for so
something as flexible to stay straight as an arrow, slight quivers are fine IMO as as soon as it touches the wall it's all on the wall with no misses.
So long as it's not sprung the other way it's fine.

Surprised at the plate of the 18 being the same as the 16 though? Would have thought the ends would be more likely to bend up like this?

Cheers BigK , ive become quite attached to it now , use it on all my skimming.
It gets fairly minging though , only had it a month and looks like ive had it years , might need to clean it!

I need to try a 16 or 18 s*p*r*lex.. only used the 14.. not got any skimming on the cards for a while though...

This rain is getting me down. Piss sing down yesterday and again today. Forecast said dry ffs. Was outside but now inside doing some coving ffs. I think the climate has changed for good now. The summers are just like the winters. When I was a kid in the winter I had to go to bed with two pairs of socks and gloves and jumpers. Not like that anymore.

Don't if you can see the rain on the pond
