Hi does anyone know the going rate for skimming is now. Been out of game for a couple of years and last time on site I was getting £2 sqm on subby prices.

Get involved and have fun - don't be put off by that bully Danny - he spoils a lot of fun on here LOL
 
Yea just got a telling off for talking about prices. I'm new excuse me. Just wondering whether its worth going back on site yet.
 
I know and the books rate is even less. Anyway just got bollocked by the gaffa for talking about prices. Put when I get together with all my plasterer buddies that's all you talk about . Bit hard to avoid the topic really.

My idea of worms are the ones that make ya bum hole itch, others might be thinking about worms for fishing.........and this is why we dont discuss prices cos it gives you and itchy ass..................:RpS_thumbup:

And rightly so @spunky thats where they should be mate, if not alot higher, in early 2000 we were getting £3.25m2 and if that rose each year just by the basic rate of inflation that should now be worth £4.65m2.

About 15k would do it, the are not expensive, back on day work to be honest, my price work days have gone due to idiots working cheaply and my bones been fukked, mad in London houses have gone up in the last six months by 5 to 10 percent but the trades are getting small money still, I used to get more in 2004 than I do now, I remember a school that I gave my cousin at7.50 a metre supply and fix ten years back, 2000 metres in that job, I can't see how plasterers will improve their lot at the current rates and that is a shame.
 
The thing is john that 2.50 is what it is and its the only work i get does that make me an idiot
 
I saw a job advert this week for a spread to work night shift in London i think it said Wembley hourly rate was £15. Working From 10pm to 7a m!
As i read it i just kept thinking I hope they are not in a hurry to get it finished.

People work for what's about, I have had it every way with work like everyone, but I think a lot of spreads are been taken advantage of and that's a shame considering the work wrecks you in the end,I am wrecked early on in life but that's just my luck and not just the work that I have done, I just think we need to be making more than just enough to live on to cover for the off periods, the injury periods,etc, I understood the low prices while property was falling in value in London but not now when its rising, the money is there but the foot is still on our necks. We are doing three new town houses now at a decent day work rate but I know I am lucky to have it

i don't thinks so anyone need to discuss price here because everyone have different ideas and types so it's privately discussed
 
Not different ideas if you go on site and they say its 2.50 thats what it is there is no margin anymore for barganing
 
Site is where there is regular employment but lower,earnings. I avoid them as much as possible unless invited by a contact to,price
 
it allways that way in a downturn when good times come back around again and the will you will be telling him what the price is and he will be asking when can u start
 
Ive never lowered my rates but 2.50 is all i have ever got apart from a handfull of times
