Prizes...

Well here's the first little oddball bit for your prize collection @Olican I haven't been to the unit yet, so there will no doubt be other 'stuff'.

Nothing more than a curio, but it's an invoice for plastering work done, in 1901. Probably only of interest to Bibliophiles and collectors of interesting bits. Also useful to check your rates against other plasterers. One old penny an hour :envidioso four stone of plaster of paris etc.

Worth bearing in mind that when he would have been at school age, it wasn't compulsory for kids to go. If they did the leaving age was 12. So as a tradesman he clearly had a reasonable education to develop the three Rs to that level before he served a five year apprenticeship and another year or two as an improver.

Hardly the turnip picking knuckle dragger most people imagine in the manual trades during the Victorian period.

This is brilliant!! When are you opening z bunker to the public? :rebotando:

It's a cracking prize, I'm looking forward to getting this one started

Had a quick gander round the unit this morning and came to the conclusion most of the stuff there is a bit too eclectic. However, tucked into a cupboard was just the thing.

Fourth batch, first year of production single malt from Cotswolds Distillery. Ideal if you want to hang onto it as an investment bottle, equally well suited to necking and getting off your t1ts in style. Or it would make a nice present for someone who's into their whiskys.
