profile beads

Doing a small EWI job today ,fixed the base rail on then put the profile beads on ,what a ballache to get on ,you have to slide them along the base rail,normally use weatherbys that clip on nice and easy ,got these of a mate who got them from alumasc

Ive got a sto one.to do in january. Hope theirs is.clip on. Its 42 lengths of base track

Like said below, fit them on before you fit the insulation slabs. I tried once after the slabs and what a pain that was.

I have a mate who say's there is a knack to it. He can get them on with a rubber mallet window fitters use.

I did put them on before insulation was fitted but you had slide these ones along,the weatherbys beads just clip on

Can wack them on in summer but winter no chance I have to slide them on.

Plus I started cutting them with a hacksaw because the snips snap them

Its strange to me that you can slide them , but not clip them on. I always do the clip ons before I start with the boards. Gives your better grip and you can twist and adjust them in order to fit them. Once the boards are on, your life is a hell. My point is - sliding is more difficult than clipping. Check also the basetrack. If you have even the smallest dent that's it- mission impossible!

Alumasc slide on,weatherbys clip on,different from each other

Try to put them on , just like you will clip them on . It's easier without the bottom nose. You can move them up and down. And if the the Chanel is too tide, run a screwdriver along . Has helped me.

Try to cut the bottom part front and back separately, then move up. You will be surprised what difference makes

as said above run a screwdriver along the clip on part of the bead thats how ive got over that problem in the past after learning the hard way!
