hi lads i was called too skim a pub reboard and skim but its pritty big job
what im trying too work out is what size lid do you class a to big for one spread as im trying to keep the price down.
As there a gang of pakistanys giving a price too its a totle rip out its gonner be a restrant lol
if you work on your own whats the bigest lids youll do on your tod till you think its time too get a hand in

its the hole pub upstares too
Its well over 70 boards
dont even want too think of the m2 of skimming
tones of d&ding its just the lids im not shore on m2 till it starts getting stupid
i know about the rolling set just trying too get it tigether on this job dont want too looese it
on lid work what m2 can a spread pall in his tod
??? ??? ??? ???
i managed too swip one of the boards from there too lol

Personally i'll get a hand if it's bigger than 25m2.
Not saying I couldn't do more but why struggle ;D
Price it in on the job ;)

The other thing is mate if someone says they can do 40m2 or 80m2 on there own it doesn't mean you can!
Only you know what you can put on on your own ;)

im just trying too get a ruth m2 on lids till you think fcuk that i nedd a hand walls im ok with just lids im still trying too better myself each day if the price is right thay want tiling too so im on too a good thing here i think just got to keep it tite as im trying to keep the price down but not too under price

its a no go question mate, none of us are doing the work. you are. i can do a ceiling thats a few bags, kebab king fully admits his limits are a couple of hawkfuls. only you know how much you can do

I'm maxed-out at 30 m over artex. That's about as much as i can handle...and that's a rolling set, by the way on a low ceiling ;) Carping, i'd be more concerned about getting paid if i were you, if you know what i mean. Be careful, we don't want to read your sob story on here in a few weeks! ;D

Just spend a bit of time looking at it and put your price in,chances are you will get it.30sqm will max you out if you are on your own same as casper says, but everthing has to be set up ready to go,and its bloody hard work,so why kill your self for 100 a day.

if the jobs that big why not take on a lab and another spread that way nothing is impossible and you will smash the job out in no time and also will only cost you say £180 a day for a spread and lab. .. what 2 spreads and 1 lab can do in a day will make you more money than you doing the job all on your own for days on end..

f**k that, definately take a lab and maybe a spread for a couple of days if you must. if not do it all yourself. why pay someone else to do it when you can take a bit longer and get more money?

well steve, y stress on one job when you can still make good money having other people in then move on to the next job.. in and out every1 is happy, or even while u run the bigger job pop off for the odd day or 2 and skim a few rooms maxing out your income :-).. the other week we priced £900 to skim a large h/s/l me my lab and a spread did it all in one day, i got the lab to prep it the day b4, so take away £180 plus around £50 mats that £670 for me.. did i reali want to do it all on my own over 2-3days? the next day i was skimming a bedroom £380.. done in the day... just keep the jobs comming lol.. always works better to be in and out money in hand no need to drag stuff out for a few extra ££ rather get on and get home and still make nice lumps.. well thats my way any how..

love your business acumen 8) IF i was Duncan Bannatyne, i'd definitely invest in your company ;D

alot of people havent got job after job lined up at the minute though mate. this is the first time in god knows how long that we know for sure we've got at least 3 weeks ahead of us. if works a bit slow then i'd rather take a few extra days and earn all the money rather than get someone else in and finish earlier then sit at home for a few days

i dont ushally have more than 2-3 weeks ahead mate but sumit always comes up somehow.. but i can see wot ur saying if i only had one job id just do MOST of it my self.. i cant face working on my own again noooooooo boring ... i get lazy on my own

I am a right lazy cont and these days i really can not be dealing with stressing out at work, if i cant be assed to do it on my own ill price it for 2 if i dont get it then usually im quite pleased

2.4 high on stilts i did a 5x6 ceiling and put 2 x window top reveals on with ease today. but 2 weeks ago when was 30 degrees strggled with a 4x4.
temprature x background x ability = m2
just look at it on the day only u will no if you can do it no else can answer that for u pal.

Cant see how it will make a difference? a M2 price is a M2 price if one or five people work on the same lid

i dont work on m2 mate im all domestic/private

On ceilings I rather not do more that 25m2 on my tod on walls I dont think I have a limit.... well I always manage to eat a sarnie between coats :-)

but I know spreads that can jsut keep putting on... I am not one of them and teh fact oyu have to ask the question probably means you are not.

I would get someone in to help even another spread that way you can spread the load

By the time you realise it's too much for you it'll be to late. if it all goes badly, word will spread about that shody job you did. If all goes well, ang looks good should mean, one way or another, more work. I treat each job as an advert for my business. All my work comes from recomendation, so this form of advertising works. If you price in a plasterer at say £200 a day and pay him £150, then you're still making money

exactly

today we did awhole room out in one go, including the lid, about 6x4. i do all the walls 6ft high and the other lad does the ceilings and the tops of the walls. then we did a ceiling approx 8x6 between us and inbetween trowels i had enough of a break to be able to do the other half so if you push it you can get the metres on. i wouldnt do it everyday but when you need to it can be done, although if your really not sure get get someone else in for the big areas. better to pay someone for a day than get a bad name for yourself.

fair play steve thats good going mate im float and skimming thermalite block at the mo im lucky to get 15m skimmed without losing it ;D

like i said mate i wouldnt like to do it all the time but its good to know if i need to i can. all you need to do mate is soak it like a mother fuc.ker. one trowel then polish it for an hour the next morning. works for me ;D sometimes i cant even be arsed to polish it!!
