Don't often bother with the stilts anymore unless its a massive ceiling by the time I've strapped them on scratched a ceiling on then unstrapped them. the ceilings already on off a hop up.
I give it a couple of passes with the speedskim then ( and i know im going to get slaughtered for this) any ceiling up to a height of 8ft I trowel off the floor.

Fair play mate I take it your s tall lad then!

When I first started I used to work occasionally with a kid that was 6'5" and he used to do the same it made such a difference he used to slaughter me on lids but I was a tad quicker on walls...

Let's be honest mate be it stretching and looking up or up and down on hopuo or stilts... Theve all got there own problems that's why I'd like to be able to use a spat the whole way through I know some say you can but also plenty say u can't!
 
Ive done ceilings up to 8 ft off the floor since I started, but I suppose that's also why I have a hernia on my lower chest!

I always used to get proper bollocked by the old man and lectured from all the old boys for troweling ceilings off the floor.
 
@scottie5 i was laying on this morning in a big kitchen/living open plan room. Decided if you can do 10 bags a day then so can i so first hit was 5 bags....second hit was 2.5.....you can stick your big mixes pal! Had to go do a little job for a builder tonight as well and i was f**k*d! Only had a bucket trowel to do my labouring though ffs
