I've been taught using PVA but im on a job with mixed backgrounds ie. Old plaster, shiny paint etc. I always use PVA but just thought about trying Bond-It. Can anyone fill me in on this Bond-It stuff.

Cheers Hillsy

thistle bond it needs to be applied the day before you plaster.
we do not like the bond it, it can make a mess. my brother had given us a few tubs of bond it, we put them into the skip and used pva.

Bond it is good but is costly especially when prices are getting squeezed the way they are. Having to apply the day before also adds time and money to a job, diesel and that. I use it sometimes but would never replace pva with it.

I have never used it, mainly due to price.

I understand blue grit is a good product but no one seems to stock it near me.

Cemtone plasterers primer is everywhere, whats it like to use???

Seriously mate why people don't listen is beyond me. Works out the same price as bluesh.it and cheaper than bond it when you knock it down a bit. The grit is really fine unlike bluesh.it which is like ballast. It sets within the hour and can be used externally. There really is no need for another product

Bond it can be applied to everything concrete everything so you can more or less plaster over anything once applied, needs to go on day before mate.. But it is a lot dearer then P.V.A??? £46 tub

Id say probably 3:1 micro:water. Just loosens it up and makes it even nicer to roll. The other day i had some pva/water mixed in my tub and couldn't be arsed to empty it so chucked the micro in with it and it was fine so you can probably do that more often too
