Whenever plasterboard was put like for few months prior to plastering, I always pva it, f**k knows what amount of dust on it and any grease etc, rather that than it going off in minutes.

I've only ever PVA'd plasterboard when I can see a serious colour change.

The paper on board like that is thirsty as f**k. Always put a coat of heavily diluted PVA to soak in.

Last year i skimmed a kitchen/ utility boarded for me by a customer who did a decent job to be fair. Oddly a few of the boards sucked the skim right in, he had got all the boards from travis same pallet!
Did as paulf said and was fine.

To be fair if i had supplied and fitted the boards myself it would still have been the same scenario. I dont use travis or jewsons etc unless im desperate!
