Any tips for keeping the windows/doors clean when doing reveals etc?
Been thinking spraying silicon would be quicker than taping but don't want to try it in case it damages the PVC.
Any ideas to keep them clean?

I just brush them as I go John?
Some of them are a bit of a pain as they have a slight grain on them I find, but my old damaged s*p*r*lex is an absolute beauty for cleaning them.
I haven't taped one yet

yeah do same but if you dont get them early enough the finish grips like feck and your spending an hour at the end of the job cleaning them and trying not to damage the PVC
i might try the silicon , im thinking no way the finish would stick to it and be easy to clean.
I used to tape them but on domestics thats a waste of time as by the time you stick a skim bead on its out a few mill and your having to cut the tape or pulling the edge off.
Just one of them small things annoys me , hate seeing any excess finish on the windows , takes the whole look off the job.

BigK , might need a bit of advice on the speedskim type things.
The Nela worked out well and as i work off a hop up , one of those pole things would be well worth it if they work.
If i decide to buy one ill put a shout out for a bit of advice.

I scrape the excess off after each coat/trowel while its still wet then brush round with smalk brush + clean water then once finished troweling quick wipe with sponge, hate seeing windows caked up in skim + then seeing people try scrape it off after scrathing f**k out of the frame.

If you spray silicone on the frame chances Are you'll get some on the reveal your doing so the skim won't stick to that either!
Just do it like everyone else says, the cleaner the water and the brush the better/ easier it is

1'' masking tape .... takes less than a minute ... no messing about and just rip it off when done

Do the same on skirts and ark edges ...

i try to wipe it off as a i go. but thats in a perfect world. most times i will go back at the end and use my spats. works a treat. not spats as in shoes, but these
