Didnt say they deserved it but I'd imagine pressure will be applied by the government to supply major construction to help the economy stay on its feetWhy do you feel big sites deserve to be supplied first, why is a big housebuilder who screws the contractors down to working for a couple of quid a mtr more deserving than yourself?
Also many plasterers use the sheds and pick up what they need on the way to a job.
This virus should have shown us that less is more, we don't need new phones every twelve months, we don't need new cars every three years and we shouldn't be encouraging big buisness that speed and dumbing down of traditional skills is the way forward.
Most merchants are only selling to trade which is good. Hopefully all the supply goes to merchants rather than Wickes and bnqAnd then from an economic point of view I think general trade should be supplied before DIY bob, but would appreciate a balance between major construction and general trade
What do you mean by "merchants" do you mean the ones where you need to be in the trade to get a card? Most merchants are only selling to trade which is good. Hopefully all the supply goes to merchants rather than Wickes and bnq
They should but think to people signed up to trade only for the short termB and q and Wickes both have a trade card so why can’t they have it too, Wickes does a huge turnover in plaster near us

Then you have a cut off dateThey should but think to people signed up to trade only for the short term
Because half the customers I work for have a Wickes trade accountB and q and Wickes both have a trade card so why can’t they have it too, Wickes does a huge turnover in plaster near us
Once the supply chains a bit more free move it back to the shelves. I dont know just musing...I get my gear at tradepoint but just know if it's on the shelves everyone who is bored will buy a bag when us lads need it go back to normalThen you have a cut off date
DIY customers would buy from Wickes and bnq. Trade customers also buy from Wickes and bnq but I'd be shocked if a single person on this forum doesn't also have a buildbase, Travis, jewsons account etcTheres thousands of plasterers that through convenience, pricing and good storage practice choose to buy there plaster from wickes & BQ.
Why the f**k would average mrs Jones be buying plaster from there???
I dont understand this argument?

They can tell who buys plaster on a daily ish basis by tracking the card number, they already do it any wayBecause half the customers I work for have a Wickes trade account
Yes I get that they could have it like they sell their lime where you go to the counter firstOnce the supply chains a bit more free move it back to the shelves. Yep or for a little while pre register what you need and as soon as they've got it they give you a call, if you dont need it anymore fills the backlog for other people who put a pre order inYes I get that they could have it like they sell their lime where you go to the counter first
Prepare to be shocked.DIY customers would buy from Wickes and bnq. Trade customers also buy from Wickes and bnq but I'd be shocked if a single person on this forum doesn't also have a buildbase, Travis, jewsons account etc
They'd be mad. Don't get me wrong I buy 90% of my plaster from Wickes, but if you're working in a town without one then you nip to nearest builders merchants surely? And if you don't have an account they charge you £10 a bagPrepare to be shocked.

Wickes is definitely handy as it's always open when you want it to be. Store the plaster better too.I gave up with the big builders merchants... they were so expensive compared to Wickes & B&Q (when b&Q was good)
When the merchants were selling skim for £7 a bag Wickes was £4... big saving and also wickes was open early and late... I rather get gear at the end of the day ready for teh next rather than getting it on the morning of teh job...
They were only supplying Algee show me a wheelbarrow labeled Bedford

You just have to talk to the guys in builders merchants though and they'll match Wickes prices
