How do we all go about it, go after work or arange it all for a Saturday ?

Mate of mines a tree surgeon, i bumped into him on Saturday and he was in a shirt and tie, when i asked him what he was upto, he explained that he quotes on Saturdays !!

I personaly go straight from work, it suits me and usually the customers are back also, for some strange reason they seem to accept my s**t Tatts and the fact that i stink from a days graft :RpS_biggrin:.

Anybody else do all their quotes on a weekend ? and do you get dressed up for it ?

I usually go in my work gear cos I arrange to drop in on my way from work (if it's en route). Saves me fuel costs and they don't seem to mind you turning up a bit mucky. Just take your boots off :RpS_thumbup:

Shirt and tie! Feck that!Work gear, shirt and tie for bosses work gear for grafters

most of the time on a night ,occasionly through the day if it suits me and customer turn up in work gear leave boots outside, i think personally that people are more confident and reassured if you turn up in work clothes, shows they have an experienced hard working person there, one thing i have found over the years when quoting, occasionly somebody would say good price lad, definately go for you will give you a ring, so i would knock back other work because of this job ,but of course never rings you back, not so much nowadays/recent years but its all experience, one thing i do find is you develop a sort of sixth sense as to who the timewasters are, a plumber i know has got it down to such a fine art he reckons he can tell over the phone who the timewasters are.

i think it looks good to go the same day after work! i go in my work clothes which are all sign writen but have clean trainers for traveling in so dont take muck into the van or customers gaf!!!

After work for me, weekends only if it's on my doorstep. Work clothes but i keep a clean logoed shirt in the van so i'm not dropping crap all over their home. Boot off always unless it's an extention. I don't keep dates penciled in any more, only comfirmed bookings, too many lost days to wasters. Asking the right questions on the phone usually sorts out the wheat from the chaff, a few still slip through the net though.

i always go home first, have a shower. have my evening meal then call on clients around 7. oclock when they have had chance to get home. and only 1 visit per evening.

i still laugh about the time a client was telling me he had a plasterer round to quote for some work and the plasterer was to pissed to climb the stairs . i knew i was home and dry on that one!

I always go in a suit and tie, it promots a buisness attitude, thats how i am managing to get my £250 a day.

well thats a lot better then some of the T***s i see down at my local B and Q at seven o clock in the morning they look like someone has dipped them in a tub of muliti finish you would not let them in your house.

i rarley go after work as i canny be ars*d to go somewhere after a days collar unless its in my home town, but im always in clean clothes anyway as i get changed when i get to work and before i leave to keep the truck clean, weekends i dnt really dress up as long as im looking dapper :RpS_wink:

If i saw my Bank Manager in dirt covered clothes ,it would worry me ,if i had a plasterer come to me in a shirt and tie ,to look at a job ,i,d s**t myself ,thinking i can,t afford him

if a plasterer came to quote me dressed in a shirt and tie i wouldnt take him on!! what kind of plasterer wears a shirt and tie??:RpS_scared:

On way home for me, also quote in work clothes & use shoe covers customers love that :RpS_thumbsup:

After work or weekends and Always wear my log'd up t shirt. Don't see the fuss in going in mucky clothes, you're a working man ffs. As long as you take yer boots off. I found out once that taking my trousers and boxers off is too far apparently.

People expect plasterers to be covered in plaster so turn up in clean clothes and they look at you if you have never done a days graft in your life, so its better to present yourself as you work majority of the time i'm generally pretty clean so my work clothes can stay the same for at least 3 weeks :RpS_crying:
