HI THERE,,i am after some advice on re-rendering ??
a farmer friend wants his milking parlour re-rending but does not want the to pay the cost of knocking off the old and starting from fresh,i suggested using mesh sheets but again the cost is to high, the fresh render will be fibre glassed so i suggested grinding out a key in the old render which i might add is very firm and then treating with sbr before apply the 1 coat ?? im abit lost as what to do as i have always started from a scratch coat..i look forward to your replys
regards lammy

Alreet marra, ..........your farmer friend either wants a good job or he doesnt. If he doesnt want to pay to do it properly then i would tell him to get someone else marra cos if you do it half arsed and it all goes tits up he's gonna expect you to sort it and you might end up doing it the proper way you wanted it do it in the 1st place
oh and welcome to the forum..................:RpS_thumbup:

what a poor farmer. i did not see any of them turn up at the suffolk show on bicycles. but there was plenty of rolls royce cars and high end four wheel drives there!

Keep costs down!! Use cow dung that sticks like sh@t And he'll have plenty of that!:RpS_lol: as said above tell him the pitfalls of goin down the cheap route, you never know he might just find some extra coin for at least some eml.:RpS_thumbup: to coin an arti phrase "champagne ideas and lemonade money":-0....... Welcome to the forum:RpS_thumbup:

Oh aye, pleading poverty - well do you know how much it costs to fill up a Range Rover Vogue?

What Artisan says is right - if he is a true friend tell him straight and for the sake of your friendship don't take on the job.......

offer to do it right for the right money!

yes your right lads another typical loaded farmer crying poverty,,the old render is not flat enough for the company to fibre glass onto for some new regulation for walls to be cleanable etc :RpS_blink:

ill just tell him how it is then and tell the tight git to get his hands in his pocket ha ha
thanks for the welcome guys

Bloody farmers, all have sore necks and red ears..
HOW MUCH??? (Pulls ear...) dunno about thaat.. (Rubs neck..)

Deep Pockets and short arms most farmers...... and most people with lots of money............ probably why they have their money! LOL

But if they want the job right - they will have to pay for it!
