My megamixer packed in today, got it ten months ago from hand tools express. Anyone any idea how I get it fixed through warranty? Does it need sent back or will they refer me to a local dealer?

What's wrong with it? Have you tried other tools in the tranny? Undone the connection see if any wires come loose?

Tried it all mate. For the past four months when I let go of trigger it still turns, have to give it a knock to stop it then lately it's been working, then nothing at all then back to working. Lunch time today it just stopped.

Will do it in morning, got a cheap back up but needing to mix up dash receiver on Wednesday and it won't handle it.

Mine was 8 /9 years old when that happened took it to a repair place said motor was shot once it died it never worked again but I had exactly the same as your saying tapping it to stop it spinning

Easy fix buddy I wouldn't bother with warranty for this, mine went like that, just cut the wires that go to the trigger from the main lead, cut it about 4" or so outside of the drill if you understand what I mean, re splice noting where they need to be reseated within the trigger..

A wire broke within the sheathing so I could see any visual signs of a break

Phoned hand tool express this morning, no answer so phoned Refina. They said they can't do anything I need to contact hand tools express. Eventually got them and they said they will arrange to pick up and once they have it they will then send it to Refina to fix it. Will take around two weeks!!

Buy a new one ,fix the old one ,then you have a spare ,i always run two ,put the cost of a new mixer against 2 weeks no work ,bit of a no brainier, imo, claim the tax back at the end of the year

i would guess that the mixer is full of dust. slacken the handle off, remove the plates that are on both sides of the body, which are slightly covered by the handle. undue the screw in front of you and remove the brushes clean or replace.
we keep a spare set of brushes for each of our mixers.

Got a phone call today to say cable is faulty and will cost £25 + vat to fix. Asked about trigger switch and was told it was the cable that was causing the problems. How the fk can the cable cause the drill to keep spinning when trigger is released??

I got 2... the MR19 and the double handed megamixer.. both from refina, different paddles, but both do the same job. the double handed one is comfortabler to use tho...
