Without sounding like a div, how do you go about mixing s+c with a whisk? Do you mix the s+c dry first? Or chuck the water in the bath then cement then sand?
As stated by our new poster (welcomeby the way) the way ir is gauged plays a major role, when using the gauging mix i suggested (sbr/water 1.4) your sand has ti be dry,and by using sbr yu reduce the amont of water required, and by mixing wuth your paddle, this further reduces the need to add to much water to your mix,.
just done 16 hoursand three wuthEddie in the pub an am boloxed now so good night , onto Keston in Kent in the morn, then back to Eddies for some more socialising, he's a very nice chap

I done rendering with just sbr and with the paddle mixer but still found the mix soon started to go off and it was hard going.
You were right marra, weber recommended rendaid and ocr..........i had already slurried with SBR and today chucked on some render to straighten the gable up, saved me sell a pocketfull of cash, might give OCR a bash in the future thoughYea they always push all there products over traditional tried and tested methods. Reasonably flat and you will be fine m8, just don't want any big pits in it, also u'll use less rend aid which is pricy stuff!
Let us know what they advise you to dub out with, bet its ocr.
How much do you get ya OCR for????Best thing to do is use a bagged render then you don't have to worry about proportions. I've never worked quicker than with OCR.
It was nice and fluffy today but started setting canny quickI found this as well, it picks up really quick, evan when mixed up in the groilla tub with whisk
