Have you got any examples?Seeing more and more render jobs with borders rendered around the windows and doors.
Anybody do this ?? Do you just use stop beads or are they designed as border beads ?
Just curious and not sure if i like it but might have a bash in the future
Cheers

Wasn't there an Irish bead called easi bead? Used them myself but I don't know who supplies them now.
Ian Jones has them on one of his video's.
Good point was thinking the sameHas anyone thought about the potential issues with creating these bands.... As in those who use beads and do bands after do you seal around to stop water getting behind, also this is another perfect example of ledging where water can collect and create that vile green/black staining.
A lot of things can make render look better initially but not always practical in long term.
Just a genuine question before anyone wants to jump down my throat or on my dick!

Looks a lovley job mateDid some banding round a mates place in France the other year using stop bead, the look was ok, put did end up siliconing around all the beads to stop any ingress of water getting behind the render.

Have done that a few times alsoI've only ever done these window bands with sand and cement.
We scratch coat first then put 2x1 planed around the outside then render the face and reveals in one go with no beads.
When the bands have hardened then you render around them.

Is the finish bumpy smooth? Or flat render?

A tidy job looks nice
