Yeah, as you seem to think being able to render is something to be proud of lol. Someone on here had ago the other day first time and it looked bang on. Sad c**t

You do realise that I’ve openly said 100 times I don’t render? Not because it’s so complicated that I can’t do it, because I don’t need to or want to.

If your life worth is that you can render then I genuinely feel sorry for you. Sad mate.

rendering is easier then skimming full time.
decent gang it's a easy money

if you have any understanding about mix apply finish ....
it's not rocket science (y)

Just turned 42 bud I made loads of new pals down here and work contacts life's to short for ifs and buts jump in with both feet you can only give things a go and money down here pisses all over up north. Dunno if you're private or site but I know a firm in South West were you will get £4 for skimming starting tomorrow!

And houses cost up to 4 times as much.

Agree mate i only like rendering because it's like training and keeps me fit if you're on it all the time and skimming feels so easy when you drop back to internals there's definitely more money in s/c as people can't get hold of renderers like they used to so prices can be bumped up! Happy days :bailando:

only skimmers coming through. who arent interested in bespoke. just metres

even college dont have anyone who wants to render

Yup... most lecturers at college i have come across have not done a days real graft in the real world anyway...

Blind leading the blind....

The good thing is that there will in time come a shortage of renderers and an even shorter supply of good ones

No just every time a render job comes up I think of u, u 1 trick skim shinning chancer

I dont render either.... not because I cant it is because I think render looks shite and is high maintenance to keep looking neat.

You cant beat brick or stone finish in my opinion.

Few render lads I know hate doing it. I work for myself so would be big outlays/risk too. Just never needed or wanted to do it. Quietly confident if i did want to I’d manage it tho after a bit of trainin.

I take some on small extension single gables I'm like you I'm solo so you gotta have at least a labourer and another spread on call for anything bigger which can be a ball ache if there busy ect. Many times I done gables on my own with a labourer and said never again because your busting a gut but end up not being able to say no because I know it's worth a big pay packet!

I started my career plastering I couldn't make it work for me, couldn't get out of the s*** hole I was living in, started rendering no I've got the detached house in the country side with an acre living my dream, I just couldn't get it plastering, renderers are just greedy plasterers

What you talking about if you're a plasterer you cover all aspects or should at least know how to do them all anyone under 40 don't really know because there journey into plastering is different now as techniques and systems have changed.

I can cover all aspects I built my own house,
Just chose to be render only with my business years ago and looked back,

Rendering and skimming and also boarding are all what a plasterer does.

Bloke asked in job if anyone can do proper plastering anymore. I said I think next time I.ll do it will be on my own house .
Everybody round here just goes for boards think its down to drying time more then owt personally

And screeding and floating out, I know this but some of us choose to become specialist in modern rendering and stick with just that, all I do know is rendering and liquid screed

I did a bit of rendering 2 weeks ago for a pal who hasn't long started his own plastering and rendering business,as his co-worker had let him down, I've never rendered before but done s**t loads of float and set with Browning when I started plastering at 16 its all I did day in and day out so had enough experience with wet plastering , I had ago at that k-rend one coat system found it quite easy tbf and he paid me a decent day rate for helping out
