Looking for a solution for my development project, I've had to build a stud wall at the front of the property where the old shop front used to be. The guy who did the drawings specified eml on dpm (visqueen or similar) on 12mm exterior ply.

I'll be using OCR with Acrylic finish...

Do you think this will be ok? this wall is only around 10m2 and won't get heavily weathered, I've already looked into renderboards and not going to go down that route.

Wez don't question me just provide a solution, haven't got time for bullsh*t got three jobs on the go and development.

Thanks Bud.

Stud wall comprising rendered finish to match existing
on Galv EML (expanded metal lath) on dpm (visqueen or similar) on 12mm treated ext ply, on galv steel mesh A142 , on 2 skins of

100x50 treated timber studs at 400 nom ctrs with 75mm Kingspan TW55 or similar approved to achieve 0.28w/mtr2

12mm plasterboard & skim internally
Note Allow for Dpm at base, ends & openings etc.

It is only 10m2 but ocr on timber is still risky.

I would be tempted to go over the wire thick enough to fully mesh and scratch. Then on the second coat fully mesh that as well. Maybe use stiff rend-aid on the mesh instead of ocr as it should be a bit more flexible although if you ever have to get a chisel to that stuff you wouldn't think it had any flex at all!

Thanks Rigs good shout, do you now what this Visqueen stuff is, looks like the blue polyethylene membrane? Surely that can't be right should be building paper or something? X

It's a rental so I do but don't give a sh*t if you know what I mean....because I can always re do it ...re do it, and re do it? lol ONLY KIDDING GOT TO BE DONE RIGHT FIRST TIME.

I'd get a plasterer in if I were you ;) not a job for a pretty little thing like you. Easy to break a nail on these sort of jobs x

I would go for the renderboards if I could just screw them to the studs and be done with it, don't see any point in using them if I have to OSB, breather membrane, counter batten, fix boards, tape joints, ventilation, sort details at eaves, base, reveals, etc. Then use a base coat I'd have to order in, mesh it all etc...

Rather take the risk on eml. If it was a whole timber frame house, different story.
